Women and Mobile
Altuna will open the show before introducing a roundtable discussion of fellow Google Assistant global product partnerships team member Alana Brown, Leslie Garcia-Amaya, from AI at Google’s global product partnerships team, and Meron Tamrat, the lead for Google’s talent programs and events. The trio will converse about the women leaders in the voice and AI industry and their experiences in the field. They will also zero in on the place of mobile in voice technology. Creativity Inc’s senior director of product marketing and partnerships Caitlin Gutekunst and Willow Tree’s principal product strategist Margo Bulka will then examine how brands can connect voice tech and mobile apps. To round out the episode, Google developer advocate Mandy Chan and Pixplicity Android developer Eliza Camber will share explore some of the ways voice tech can enhance mobile apps.
“In order for technology to address the needs of women, it has to be built by women,” Altuna said in a statement. “We have a responsibility to reset the norms and build technology products to be inclusive regardless of race, gender, economic status, and ability.”
Before and after the featured discussions, Altuna will interact in real-time with viewers, responding to #AskSofia questions and comments on Twitter. Ahead of the show, Voice Talks is soliciting videos from viewers telling stories about the best help their voice assistant has provided. People who send in a video will have a chance to see it streamed and to win a Google Assistant device. You can check out a short video from Voice Talks celebrating women in the voice industry below.
