Vote for Voice Talks for the Webby Awards 2021 – Last Chance Today
Voice Talks was the most popular of the new voice industry events that emerged during the global pandemic of 2020. As everyone was forced into lockdown with no travel option, it eliminated a full calendar of voice industry events. As our workday became a completely digital day, Pete Erickson and the Modev (Voice Summit) team rethought the framework for getting industry professionals together to share the latest stories and information about voice AI technologies. They soon enlisted an enthusiastic partner in Google and Voice Talks was born.
A year later and Voice Talks has an audience of over 100,000 subscribers for the free monthly event and over a half million views for its eleven episodes. That success was recognized by the Webby Awards, a cross-industry award program founded in 1996 to honor excellence on the internet. I’ve been involved in a couple of Webby Award successes and it is a great honor to get your program recognized. Voice Talks is a finalist as one of the five best Virtual & Remote programs of 2020. The first Voice Talks debuted on April 28, 2020. Host Sofia Altuna kicked off the event and introduced Google Assistant’s Danny Bernstein and Manuel Bronstein. That was followed by Dave Isbitski, the lead evangelist for Amazon Alexa. I joined to share some of Voicebot’s latest data on voice assistant adoption followed by Jolene Amit discussing Voca.ai’s work in using voice technology to diagnose COVID-19. Since then, dozens of speakers have chronicled the products, best practices, and stories driving the voice industry forward. Pete Erickson commented on this journey saying:
The team that produces this show has never met in person and this is an inspiring story about how a remote group of stangers prevailed through such adversity to create something valuable and lasting. You can be a part of this story with your vote.
So, take a moment to vote for the voice industry this morning. In another year, we may be back to more in-person events and the virtual gatherings won’t be a necessity. That wasn’t an option in 2020 and it was great to see Voice Talks develop television-style programming designed to fill an unexpected gap in information sharing.
