Omar Tawakol CEO of Voicera on Creating a Conversational Inbox – Voicebot Podcast Ep 61
Omar Tawakol is CEO and co-founder of Voicera which he says is creating a conversations inbox and system of record for meetings. The core solution is automated meeting transcription that also generates meeting notes with a highlights summary. This makes meeting notes easier to share and fully searchable. Tawakol also says that it solves two basic problems. The first is inconsistent attention during meetings caused by the distraction of taking notes. Voicera’s Eva meeting assistant takes notes so attendees can fully focus on the conversation. And, after the meeting the user has meeting notes automatically assembled the by Eva meeting assistant to share with their colleagues.
The second benefit is the ability to access the conversations from meetings that you cannot attend due to a conflict. Even non-meeting attendees can more easily review the highlights, transcription or audio recording of meetings they missed.
Tawakol also goes into detail about how the company’s Ensemble technology applies multiple speech recognition engines to address the meeting transcription challenge before applying AI to extract highlights. It is about balancing speed, accuracy and cost. He earned a Masters degree in computer science from Stanford and engineering degree from MIT.
