Google Home Max Coming to Australia in August, Appears in UK and Germany Online Stores
Google Home Max has received positive reviews as a high-end smart speaker in the U.S., but availability has only extended to Canada since first launching in December 2017. That will change next month when Google Home Max becomes available in Australia. A new listing in the Google Store for Australia is accepting waiting list reservations.
Google Home first launched in the country in July 2017 and data from Q1 2018 shows that about 5% of Australians now have access to a smart speaker. Nearly all of these smart speaker owners have a Google Home as Amazon Echo devices didn’t launch until early February 2018. The Australian smart speaker adoption rate exceeds that of the U.S. and is on par with Canada. Google has done a nice job of creating consumer awareness with 61% of Australians aware of the device according to a recent Edison Research survey.
Google Home Max Soon to Arrive in UK and Germany
There is no waiting list page yet in the Google stores for Germany and the U.K., but the icon showed up earlier today in the product carousel. If you attempt to click on it right now, it simply stays on the main page. Clicking on other carousel items brings you to a product page. This suggests that product pages for purchase or a waitlist will soon be added to these stores for Google Home Max.
These appear to be the only countries that will soon receive access to Google Home Max. A review of Google Stores in Austria, France, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, and Spain showed now sign of Google Home Max product availability. Pricing is not currently listed for Australia, Germany and the U.K., but as a point of reference the U.S. sale price is $399 and it is $499 in Canada.
