VOICE 19 Highlights to Watch
The VOICE 19 conference this week in Newark, New Jersey looks set to be full of breaking news, intriguing technology, and a real glimpse into the future of the industry. It’s impossible to go to every interesting talk and panel, but here are some of the highlights we are looking forward to starting Tuesday morning.
Tuesday
9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Keynotes
Leaders in voice tech from Amazon, Samsung, and Microsoft will all take the main stage first thing in the morning, each with their own big announcements. Dave Isbitski, chief evangelist for Alexa and Echo at Amazon, Adam Cheyer, co-founder and vice president of engineering at Viv Labs, now owned by Samsung, and Noelle LaCharite, principal project manager for Microsoft Search, Assistant, and Intelligence, will all share what their companies are up to. There will then be a surprise announcement from airline KLM.
1:00 p.m. The Future of Voice
Paul Neil of XMOS and Simon Bryant of Futuresource present data about the future of voice adoption and Voicebot’s Ava Mutchler moderates a discussion about the findings.
2:30 p.m. VOICE 2019 Survey Results
Voicebot’s own Bret Kinsella will join Voice 19 organizer, Pete Erickson, CEO of MoDev, to talk about the results of a recent industry survey they conducted that gauged the activity and sentiment among voice professionals across functional areas.
4:00 p.m. The Dark Mirror Scenario for Voice
Nodes global head of voice Maarten Lens-FitzGerald will look at why there needs to be voice standards comparable to those created by the World Wide Web Consortium.
Wednesday
9:00 a.m. The Human Voice in the Voice-First Era
Voices.com CEO David Ciccarelli will talk about the role of voice actors as voice-first devices continue to spread and become more popular.
2:00 p.m. Diving Into Investment and Adoption Trends of Voice Tech in Healthcare
A panel of experts and leaders in health and voice technology will explore how healthcare is starting to adopt voice technology, and what the shape of the industry may look like in the next few years.
6:00 p.m. VOICE Summit Awards Dinner
The winners of the VOICE Summit Awards will be revealed. You can learn more about them in our preview. Winning team of the Alexa Cup will also be crowned.
Thursday
9:00 a.m. Fintech Leader and the Race for Voice Supremacy
Voicebot’s Bret Kinsella takes the stage to moderate a panel discussions with executives from Prudential, TD Ameritrade, and Visa.
10:30 a.m. Featured Case Studies – VA State Lottery
The fascinating story of how voice technology became part of the Virginia State Lottery.
1:00 p.m. Women in Voice: Successful Teams and Skill Building
Some of the most prominent women in the industry will explore the state of the industry, and how to successfully build its future, especially with regards to team and skill building.
2:20 p.m. Brands and the Future of Voice First
Nestle, Royal Bank of Canada, and the American Red Cross take the stage to discuss their voice strategy and how large organizations can organize for successful voice programs. Bret Kinsella of Voicebot is moderating this panel.
3:30 p.m. Closing Keynote
Clinc CEO Jason Mars will give a keynote to help conclude the Voice 19 conference.
