You Can Now Ask Alexa to Order Food Delivery
ChicagoInno – The new Amazon Alexa skill, Amazon Restaurants, will let Prime members order food delivery in 20 cities by just using their voice. The one catch is it will only bring up previous orders. The voice service is able to pull up a customer’s order history and sort it by a specified restaurant or cuisine type. Alexa can then list the past meal options available for reorder. Amazon could potentially disrupt the food delivery space with this new service, and GrubHub is well aware. “Uber and Amazon are the new boogiemen in the market,” said GrubHub CEO Matt Maloney last year. Delivery is free for Amazon Prime members and available in these cities:Chicago, Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Brooklyn, Columbus, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Portland, Manhattan, Miami, Minneapolis, Northern Virginia, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco Bay area, Seattle and Tampa.
