In the Battle Between Amazon and Google, It’s Not About the Hardware

Today the Huffington Post reposted an answer to a question that appeared on Quora asking, “How can Amazon Echo win over Google in the long run given Google’s AI superiority?” Nikhil Dandekar, an engineering manager replied, arguing that that it’s not about the devices itself, but rather the voice assistants inside them. He believes that in the future everything we use will have voice assistants built in, from our glasses to our microwaves. Therefore, “the company that can partner better with the various car, glasses, TV, microwave and smartwatch manufacturers will be the one with the bigger market share.” Read his full response here.
