IBM Unveils Watson-Power Imaging Solutions for Healthcare Providers
Primeur Weekly – At the Radiological Society of North America Annual Meeting, IBM companies Watson Health and Merge Healthcare launched new artificial intelligence and machine learning imaging technologies. IBM researchers estimate medical images account for 90% of all medical data today, most of which requires manual analysis. IBM wants health professionals to use the new technology as a tool to help them efficiently and effectively analyze the large amounts of data they view each day. One solution from IBM Watson is the MedyMatch “Brain Bleed” app, a cognitive image tool to help ER doctors diagnose strokes or brain bleed in trauma patients based on evidence in their patient records. Merge Healthcare launched its Marktation solution which helps physicians to quickly and more accurately interpret patient images with an initial application in mammography.
