Apple AirPods, Amazon Echo, Google Home to Lead Holiday Shopping Lists Says Adobe
Adobe recently released its Holiday shopping predictions for online sales. Total U.S. online sales are expected to top $100 billion for the first time and purchases on mobile devices and tablets will account for 54% of transactions. Devices that provide access to voice assistants are expected to be in high demand.
The most desired electronics this holiday season include Apple Air Pods, Sony PlayStation® VR as well as home assistants, including Amazon Echo and Google Home.
Voice Assistant Gifts Command 5 of 8 Top Social Media Positions
Part of Adobe’s analysis relies on Social Media Buzz as an indicator of popularity. Devices that provide access to voice assistants are expected to be broadly popular commanding five of the top eight positions for consumer electronics gifts based on social media mentions between August and early October. In addition to AirPods, Google Home and Amazon Echo, Google’s recently announced Pixel Buds also made the list as did Apple’s HomePod. However, we now know that HomePod will command zero sales this Holiday season because it won’t ship until 2018.
Given all of the Black Friday deals on smart speakers and Adobe’s predictions, the probability seems good that voice assistant devices will be a popular gift this year. What will you be buying this Holiday season? Let us know on Twitter @bretkinsella and @voicebotai.
