Root For Seattle’s Home Team with Alexa
Voicebot recently reported on a number of hotel chains that are adding voice-assistant devices as an in-room personal concierge. And now, the Seattle Mariners are doing the same at SafeCo Field. The MLB team recently added Amazon Echo devices to its 59 private suites at the Mariners home ballpark in Seattle. Guests can use the voice prompt “Alexa, ask the Mariners…” to call for their suite attendant or order food and drink from a pre-set menu. Other options include asking Alexa to adjust the volume or change the channel on the TV sets, get info about the team’s schedule or play Mariners trivia.
While the Mariners are off to a slow start this season, it is fitting that the first MLB club to introduce Echo devices to its ballpark is in Amazon’s hometown. “As our partnership with Amazon Alexa evolves, we envision adding new skills and interactive features that will further enhance our suite guests’ game day experiences,” said Dave Curry, Seattle Mariners VP of Information Services.
