New Payment Feature Coming Soon to Google Assistant
Tech Times – A code in the Google App beta version 6.11.13 hints that soon users will be able to make payments by voice commands. Right now, Google Assistant only supports payment through service apps. XDA Developers discovered several strings of code referencing payment settings for the Google Assistant, such as user information, billing and shipping addresses, and credit card selection. Another feature discovered in the code is the ability to select which devices are authorized to make online payments to avoid any accidental purchases. “You’ll soon be able to pay for things,” read another line.
Google has made it no secret that it wants its Google Assistant to become a core part of people’s lives. Adding this payment feature will make using Google Home for day-to-day activities even more appealing. It will allow Google to compete against Amazon’s Alexa in what the company does best: online shopping. LINK
