Amazon Launches AI Platform
Techvibes – Amazon launched a new AI Platform for third-party developers today at its annual re:Invent developer event in Las Vegas. Three services are initially available on the new platform: Rekognition, an image recognition service, Polly, a text-to-speech service and Lex, a chat bot service. Lex is based on the technology currently used for its digital assisant, Alexa. Amazon also confirmed that it is investing heavily in artificial technology research and development, with “thousands” of employees dedicated to the department, according to Amazon Web Services CEO Andy Jassy.
